Intro to Somatic Practices: A workshop for people curious about learning new ways to relate to their bodies
Sulis Studio, Florence, MA
Sliding Scale $10-30
This workshop will introduce foundational, accessible somatic practices and tools as well as discussion around how our nervous system and bodies impact our day-to-day experience
Some more information about learning somatic practices: Deepening our relationship with our body and what it is sharing with us can be an incredibly powerful process. It can support us to access new experiences of self-trust, clarify our boundaries and expand our capacity to feel what is here and be present in new ways. We are living in profoundly overwhelming, stressful and challenging times, and so many of us feel ongoing collective fear and grief in our physical bodies. Somatic tools support us individually and in our communities to show up, support one another and grow our capacity together.
*No prior experience necessary with somatic practices! This will be a collaborative space to explore, learn and reflect together.*
Masks required, extras will be available. Please inquire directly with any accessibility requests, I will do my best to accommodate!
Increasing Our Capacity For Connection:
An Embodied Exploration with Skye Nunke and Noah Goldberg
Sunday, October 1st 2-4pm
Nonotuck Park, Easthampton, MA
Price: Sliding scale $18-54 (no one turned away for lack of funds!)
In the temporary homes of our bodies, current political upheavals, climate catastrophe, and community configurations, how do we facilitate healing and connection in our moment-to-moment experiences? Inspired by the themes of Sukkot, Hospicing Modernity, principles of Somatic Experiencing and somatic psychology, join us as we explore and strengthen our ability to show up in the truth of ourselves and our world. If you like exploring through your senses, getting to share space with others and bringing creativity and curiousity to our embodied experiences, please consider joining us!
*Some experience with mindfulness or somatic practices encouraged*
*A note about COVID: We expect to be a small gathering of 10 or so people outside and will generally be distanced, but please plan to bring a mask in case we want to get in closer proximity. If you have additional COVID concerns please reach out.
Accessibility info: Nonotuck park in Easthampton is ADA accessible. There will be binary (sorry!) bathrooms available. More details on exactly where to meet will be provided prior to the date.
